Overview

The mission of the Office of State and Federal Programs is to assist the district in effectively and efficiently managing categorical resources to maximize student outcomes.

Responsibilities of the Office of State and Federal Programs include:

  • Budget Management:  Sites are supported through budget development, budget and compliance monitoring, training, and expenditure monitoring in support of the district and school site goals.
  • Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP):  LCAP is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities. The LCAP provides an opportunity for Fresno Unified to share its story of how, what, and why programs and services are selected to meet local needs.
  • Local Control & Accountability Plan (LCAP): Share FUSD’s story of how, what, and why programs and services are being used to address positive student outcomes and provide opportunities for educational partners to provide input on district investments that is used to inform the planning of the district’s LCAP.
  • Non-Public Schools: Provide guidance and support to participating private schools receiving State and Federal categorical funds.
  • Parent Involvement:  Provide support and guidance to ensure compliance with the Parent Compact, Parent and Family Engagement Policy, and the site-based Title I parent meeting.
  • School Site Council:  Provide schools with one-on-one assistance.
  • School Site Plan Development:  Support sites throughout the development of the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and budget.

SPSA

The Office of State and Federal Programs supports sites throughout the development of the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and budget.  This includes one-on-one assistance with the requirements for School Site Council, the Title I parent meeting, and parent and family engagement.
