Definition
Categorical funding for the Federal Government targets particular students or programs. Categorical funding comes with restrictions about how the money can be spent. The primary sources of categorical funds include:
- Title I – serving economically disadvantaged students
- Title II – providing professional development for staff
- Title III – providing services to English Learners
